Poorly New Plumbing For Working Old

Comments Off on Poorly New Plumbing For Working Old

I have had such a game with the plumbing of my rather fabulous new kitchen.  My designer said that the install team leader would make a visit before anyhing was firmly ordered.  This would give them a chance to check that the cadcam plans could actually come to fruition and not end up as yet another pie in the sky project.   So all was looking good, the leader came and checked the surveyors electronic measurements – he looked over the queries raised and mentioned nothing at all about the planned sink needing to have new plumbing – in fact I recall he thought that the resiting of the sink was so near the old that it would all bend ok within the space available.  When the installation took place however, the first thing they did was rip out all the kitchen plumbing, move the mains stopcock and the outside tap.  Things have never quite recovered since day 1 – what they failed to ell me was that all that was quite unecessary and only added to boost the amount the kitchen supplier had to pay them – an old trick in the book apparently.
