Shared Adopted Sewer Pipe Proves A Blessing

Comments Off on Shared Adopted Sewer Pipe Proves A Blessing

When you realise that slower flushing of the loos and the even slower filling and emptying of the wash hand basin, you suddenly realise there’s a problem and panic overtakes.  How many people are really that prepared for dealing with the main water outflows?  I know nothing about domestic water courses so after a few days I got a maintenance guy to check over and advise.  He said immediately it was thewater services problem and so it proved to be – a collaps in the main sewer outlet up the road was causing back ups down our end.  Oh how grateful my neighbours and I were when the chap with his water van got to us after 4 days.  That’s when you really appreciate how fantastic our utilities are in this country!  Because it had affected several houses down the road in what turns out to be our shared adopted sewage outlay . . . . the service company is liable and not us.  Phew. Hurrah!
