Meet Everybody’s Best Pal – The DIY Plumber

Comments Off on Meet Everybody’s Best Pal – The DIY Plumber

Lots of chaps have a morbid fear of doing any do it yourself project.  The sheer thought of how to actually take something apart, see what is wrong with it and then repair or replace it is beyond the scope of all but a few hardy blokes who have always had a bent for taking stuff apart and putting it back togerher, several times.    I used to have a best chum who was never happier than when he had a toolbox in his hand and could show off his prowess with the power tools!  He was also a pretty dab hand at fixing the plumbing or kitchen problems.  He’d done an apprenticeship some years before – to be an engineer, and this really showed in everything he touched, be it bathroom plumbing, kitchen plumbing or even just the plumbing basics like knowing where the stopcock is and how to turn it on or off.    Knowing these basics has kept him so busy over the years, helping us neigbours who never got around to learning anything so handy!!
